Healthcare is changing fast. New digital tools such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence and online health records are transforming the way care is given. To keep up, healthcare staff need fresh skills that bring together technology with the human side of care.
The Hybrid Healthcare project helps universities and students respond to this need by updating healthcare education across Europe.
Our goal is to give future healthcare professionals the knowledge and confidence to use digital tools alongside good management practices. With easy-to-use resources, open learning materials and hands-on training, we support teachers and students to prepare for the healthcare systems of tomorrow.

Universities and training institutions are under increasing pressure to keep pace with digital transformation in healthcare. Tools such as telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and electronic health records are reshaping how care is delivered. At the same time, professionals must develop the management and organisational skills needed to use these tools effectively while maintaining the human side of healthcare.
The Starter Kit is the first major output of the project and sets the groundwork for everything that follows. It brings together three core elements: a state-of-the-art review of current digital health and hybrid management practices, a set of case studies that show how these approaches are being applied in real contexts, and a package of digital tools to support educators in introducing them into their teaching. Together, these resources give universities a practical and evidence-based starting point for modernising their courses. The Starter Kit is designed to be adaptable so that institutions of different sizes and backgrounds can use it to update curricula in a way that fits their own needs.
Our bootcamps are short, intensive training sessions where students and staff can practise using digital health tools in realistic healthcare scenarios. They provide hands-on experience with technologies like telemedicine and electronic health records, while also building teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills. The aim is to prepare future professionals who are confident, adaptable and ready to work in modern healthcare environments.
The OERs are designed to give both students and educators practical, accessible ways to build skills in digital health and hybrid management. They go beyond theory, offering interactive learning materials, examples, and activities that show how new technologies and approaches can be applied in real healthcare settings.
For educators, the OERs provide ready-to-use content that can slot into existing courses, helping them to update curricula without starting from scratch. For students, they offer engaging tools for independent study, supporting them to strengthen their digital competences and management abilities at their own pace.
